The assembly comprises a tube which is connected to a device producing a suction flow in the tube so that the end of the weft thread, which is in the shed, is taken up. the device producing the suction flow consists of an ejector comprising a sleeve, through which the air drawn from the shed passes. A bush, mounted behind this sleeve in the direction of air flow, partially surrounds the sleeve, forming an annular gap which adjoins a feed pipe, through which compressed air is fed. In passing through the gap, the compressed air creates a vacuum in the sleeve, so that air is drawn out of the shed and discharged into the atmosphere.
