PURPOSE: Provided is a method of manufacturing a fibril polyester fiber which makes the fibrillation only found in natural fiber, rayon-like regenerated fiber and acryl-like synthetic fiber with a polyester fiber. CONSTITUTION: A method of manufacturing a polyester fiber comprises the steps of: forming external particles by inputting 1.0-10.0wt.% of inorganic particles with a mean particle size of 20-250nm during the initial ester exchange reaction; forming internal particles by adding 0.1-0.3wt.% of phosphoric acid compound to the polymer after the ester exchange reaction; adding 1.0-5.0wt.% of titanium compound with a mean particle size of 0.01-0.5 micrometer and 1.0-8.0wt.% of silica compound during the polycondensation reaction; and spinning a hollow fiber using an oval or rectangular hollow spinneret with a hollow rate of 10-40%, a slit width of 1.5-12 micrometers, an evenness of 1.5 or less and a weight loss rate of 5-35%. During the alkali weight loss-treating, the hollow fiber is fibrillated in the fiber axis direction.
