The protection against backward tipping for a wheelchair (1) involves a blocked tip protection position preventing backward tipping around the main wheel axle (5). Each wheel (14) is connected with the chair frame (3) via a pliable tip protection arm (16) located around a rotation axis (17) parallel to or coaxial with the chair main wheel axle. The tip protection arms are coupled to an operating component (18) for locking in the blocked tip protection position. Each tip protection arm has a front activation part (19) extending forward from the rotary axis (17) and a rear support wheel supporting part (20) extending backwards from the rotary axis. |
