PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound oxide of iron oxide and titanium oxide with recognizable specificity in electric properties, and production method therefor. SOLUTION: The method for producing the compound oxide comprises the steps of pulverizing iron oxide and titanium oxide into microparticles in several micrometers, granulating the microparticles into granules of around 10 to 300μm, holding the granules at a high temperature in the range of 1,000 to 1,500°C for around 1.5 to 2.5 hours, slowly cooling it to obtain a compound recrystallized product in which Fe<SB>2</SB>TiO<SB>5</SB>and rutile-type TiO<SB>2</SB>are mixed.
