PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head whereby a dust put in an assembling process from a component in the recording head can be readily removed. SOLUTION: A sub-fluid passage having a cross section greater than that of a nozzle to be used in the printing and a sub-ejection hole having the area greater than that of an ejection hole to be used in the printing are provided to an outermost part of a nozzle array to be used in the printing. In the way or last of the assembling process, an ink or a liquid is sucked only from the sub-ejection hole to remove a dust in the recording head. After cleaning to remove the dust is performed, the sub-ejection hole and the sub-passage are closed on an as-needed basis. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
