PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent for spraying to plant foliage capable of promoting photosynthesis of plants even in the case of insufficient sunshine and generation of ethylene which is a plant hormone and capable of imparting disease resistance to the plants by accumulating phytoalexin, and to provide a method for using the agent. SOLUTION: A photosynthesis promoter, a plant growth regulator or a disease resistance-imparting agent contains at least one semiconductor photocatalyst by 0.0005-50 wt.% based on the whole weight of the agent as an effective ingredient and is applied to above-ground parts of the plants.
