PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anion adsorbent free of lead which has an adsorption capacity equivalent to that of a heavy metal anion adsorbent containing lead. SOLUTION: The anion adsorbent contains an amorphous iron hydroxide precipitate obtained by adding an alkali into an iron ion solution or an amorphous coprecipitate obtained by adding an alkali into a solution containing at least two kinds of metal elements producing hydroxide precipitates at different pH values as a main component.
