<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purifier which can effectively remove free chlorine, mold odors, trihalomethanes, and heavy metals in drinking water. <P>SOLUTION: A cartridge is obtained by molding a mixture comprising fibrous active carbon (a), a metallosilicate compound (b) which has an ion exchange function and is expressed by the formula (I): x(MIO<SB>m/2</SB>)y (MIIO<SB>n/2</SB>)z(SiO<SB>2</SB>) (wherein MI is at least one element selected from Na, K, Ca, Mg, and H; MII is at least one metal atom selected from Ti, Zn, Al, B, P, Fe, Ga, Cu, V, and Cr; (x), (y) and (z) are each the number of moles of each oxide compound, x>0, y>0, z>0, and z/y>1; (m) and (n) are each the valency of MI or MII), and binder (c).
