PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst body that uses zirconium oxide obtained by a simple method in which zirconium sulfate is dissolved and allowed to react in an organic solvent such as methanol, and the gel obtained through a sol-gel reaction is dried at room temperature. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst body consists of zirconium oxide which is obtained by the sol-gel reaction of zirconium sulfate dissolved in an alcohol.
