For the exploitation of the resources such as lumbering, there are many locations to which temporary access is desired hut to which permanent roads would not be apropriate. In the past, temporary roads have been made of gravel or the lik e. However, such gravel roads are time consuming to build and maintain and a re particularly costly especially in light of their temporary nature. Furthermo re they may eventually damage the area upon which they are built. Still further the surface being formed is sometimes incapable of supposing the transport vehicles and the us e of conventional road building materials and technique is impractical. The proposed method allows for the production of so-called snowroads through a set of relatively simple steps which can be relatively easily performed by conventional earth moving equipment without requiring special skills and through energy efficient processes. Also the proposed method provides road building capacities at a relatively l ow cost and with considerable time savings.
