PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously casting which can predict the occurrence of a central crack caused by sealing corresponding to all casting conditions to take a preventive measure or to specify a central crack position occurring site. SOLUTION: A method for judging the central crack in continuous casting comprises the steps of: calculating solidification thicknesses in a casting direction at a plurality of points based on a molten steel temperature, molten steel constituents and water pouring history of a cast piece cooling water in the secondary cooling zone of a continuously casting machine; and judging a central crack risky site from a reduction starting position to a complete solidification position of the cast piece when the solidification thickness calculated value is reduced in the casting direction. Thus, even when the cast piece is forcibly cooled to be rapidly cast or the presence or absence or the central crack caused by sealing can be accurately judged by following to the casting condition change for locally decelerating the casting speed, and the preventive measure can be taken.
