PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable placement of a computerized tomographic (CT) apparatus or the like and accurate alignment of a target (1) by reducing the volume occupied by an apparatus for irradiation used for particle radiation therapy and (2) by creating a large space around a table for a patient. SOLUTION: Particle beams conveyed from an accelerator are bent perpendicular to a beam axis by a deflecting magnet, and the deflecting magnet is rotated around one point on the beam axis or the extension in a state prior to the bending of the beams. The table loaded with the patient is moved horizontally or vertically with the rotations of the deflecting magnet so that the bent beams penetrate the center of the target inside the body of the patient.
