PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing, with which a part equipped with the handling lever of a reel main body is furnished with partition walls, a gear box is separated and seawater, water, foreign matters, etc., are prevented from penetrating into the gear box. SOLUTION: The inside of the reel main body 1 is constituted of the gear boxαin which a driving apparatus composed of a driving gear 13 and a pinion 4a and a longitudinal reciprocating apparatus of a spool 14 not shown diagrammatically are stored, a braking boxβwhich is ahead the gear boxαand in which a one-way clutch A, a brake body 2 and a nipping member 15 are stored, a long and slender recessed part 1c which is above the gear boxαand in which the handling lever 3 is stored and a storage partγwhich is below the gear boxαand in which a reverse rotation prevention change-over mechanism is stored. The gear boxαand the long and slender recessed part 1c are divided by the partition wall 1e, the gear boxαand the brake boxβare divided by the partition wall 1f and the gear boxαand the storage partγare divided by the partition wall 1g.
