PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell body culture apparatus and a cell body culture method with which the growth of a cell body having a high concentration of an active ingredient such as cordycepin is promoted and the active ingredient such as cordycepin is efficiently extracted. SOLUTION: The cell body culture apparatus is equipped with an air supply pump 3 and a nozzle 5 which function as an air supply means for supplying air from the air to the liquid level of a culture solution 2 preserved in a culture tank 1. The nozzle 5 has an air supply opening 51 positioned above the liquid level of the central part of the liquid level of the culture solution 2. The air supply opening 51 has constitution that blown out air is dispersed and the air blown out from the air supply opening 51 is supplied along the liquid level of the culture solution 2 without being vertically supplied to the liquid level of the culture solution 2.
