PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair treating agent imparting finger combing properties or flexibility to the hair after a treatment such as hair dyeing or permanent waving by application thereof to the hair during the treatment and slight in emitting smoke or an unpleasant smell even when high-temperature ironing is carried out during correction of the curled hair. SOLUTION: The hair treating agent comprises polybutene, preferably having≤1,000 average molecular weight. An oil, preferably a vegetable oil can further be contained in the hair treating agent.
