PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for dividing smoothly a work and to lower a dividing cost, and to provide a method for producing a liquid crystal panel using the work dividing method to shorten remarkably producing hours and to lower a producing cost in a liquid crystal panel producing step. SOLUTION: An edge part of a scraper is inserted between a resin layer 2 which consists of an adhering layer 2a and a polarizing filter 2b and the glass substrate 1 to be in touch with the surface of a glass substrate 1. A resin cutter wheel is in touch with the surface of the resin layer 2 by a specified pressure. The scraper and the resin cutter wheel are relatively moved along a dividing line S to the work 3 and then the resin layer 2 in a band area R is peeled from the glass substrate 1. The base material cutter wheel is in touch with the surface of the glass substrate 1 exposed by the peeling of the resin layer 2 and then a scribe line 14 is formed with their relative movement.
