The magnetic brake is for braking a line spool (4) in a fishing reel and is of the induction type. It involves a frame (1) in which the line spool is rotatably supported around a rotation axis (A). Two gable pieces (2,3) are fitted on the frame. Firmly fixed to the line spool is an end wall, which extends at right-angles to the rotation axis. A magnet holder (28) supports the magnets (27) and is located between the one gable piece and the line spool end wall. A screen plate (32) is arranged in a plane at right-angles to the rotation axis. The magnet holder and the screen plate are movable relatively to each other to different reciprocal positions, in which the screen plate covers the magnets to different extents. |
