PURPOSE:To provide a multiple transfer image forming apparatus generating overlap shift. CONSTITUTION:First and second sensors 42, 43 each having an aperture having a shape substantially equal to that of a test pattern are arranged and the shift inputted to the sensors 42, 43 from the test pattern formed by four sets of solid-state recording heads is corrected so that the output from the test pattern coincides with the shape of each of the apertures of the sensors 42, 43 to remove overlap shift. The mechanical degree of parallelization of the solid-state recording heads is operated and the image data of an image data memory parts are rearranged and converted to form a color image free from overlap shift caused by the degree of parallelization of a latent image forming means. |
