PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver for a press which can be used in a high speed frequently operated and largely pressurized and which can be operated in a low vibration. SOLUTION: The driver for the press comprises: step-up linking mechanisms 43, 45, 47 coupled at output sides to be driven to a ram 15; and a feed screw mechanism 37 coupled to the input side of the linking mechanism for driving the linking mechanism. The mechanism 37 includes a plurality of sets of screw shafts 57a, 57b and nuts 59a, 59b. The shafts 57a, 57b are respectively rotatably driven by motors 63a, 63b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
