CATALYST BODY AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a catalyst body which can perform an efficient catalytic reaction with a required minimum amount of a catalyst and exhibit high catalytic performance at a low cost.

SOLUTION: A catalytic component can be directly carried on the surface of substrate ceramic, and the catalytic component is directly carried by a ceramic carrier 11 having a honeycomb structure having a plurality of cells 2 partitioned by a partition wall 3. The catalytic component of ≥90% is carried in the outermost surface layer part 4 of the partition wall 3, for example, at a distance of ≤30 μm from the uppermost surface, which reduces the catalytic component that does not contribute a purifying reaction to lower the catalyst cost.
