PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated rubber-metal gasket which is excellent in water resistant adhesion without needing a noxious chromate coating treatment or the like of the metal in forming the laminated rubber metal gasket as a compound of a metal such as stainless steel and a rubber. SOLUTION: The laminated rubber-metal gasket having a laminated makeup comprising a metal sheet, a silane primer, a phenolic resin topcoat and a nitrile rubber compound; which uses the silane primer, preferably a hydrolytic condensate of an organo alkoxy silane, more preferably a copolymerized oligomer of alkoxy silanes having amino or vinyl group respectively. The laminated rubber metal gasket shows excellent liquid resistance to heated water, ethylene glycol or its aqueous solution, alcohol and the like. Its liquid resistant efficacy is more prominent when an organo-metallic compound is used together with a component of the silane primer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
