PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for the distribution of purified water and water quality control management. SOLUTION: In a water passage for drinking water, which preferentially distributes mainly highly treated water in a mixing system with clean water, the water quality control management within a partial pipe in a wide variety of distributing water pipes is automatically carried out. In the method according to the present invention, in addition to a measure of a prior art technique in which residual water within the water pipes is merely discarded upon an abnormal change in water quality, the residual water can be reutilized. The sensor to be selected is typically such one that is a residual chlorine analyzer or of a system which grasps the water quantity movement within the pipes and is connected to an optimal control system. In the control systems, water within a part of the pipes can be returned to a raw water tank and retreated and followed by redistribution as drinking water.
