LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE, GaN SEMICONDUCTOR LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT AND ILLUMINATOR USING THEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which functions as a bactericidal lamp or an illumination lamp by one power source and which alleviates harmfulness to a human body, and to provide a light emitting device and an illuminator.

SOLUTION: The light emitting device comprises a GaN semiconductor light emitting element for emitting main light having a central wavelength of 430 nm or less, and a fluorescent substance excited by the main light for emitting visible light so that the main light and the visible light are mixed as output light of the device. In this device, the ratio of the main light of the entire light quantity of the output light is 5 to 95%.
