<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent errors when assembling an anode and a cathode of an MEA. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell has the MEA and a gas passage for supplying- exhausting fuel gas on the surface facing the anode, a gas passage for supplying- exhausting oxidizing agent gas on the surface facing the cathode, and a conductive separator plate inserted between the MEAs, a marking is applied to at least one of each of catalyst layers and each of gas diffusion layers to discriminate the anode from the cathode.
