<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security performance without complicating an authentication procedure. <P>SOLUTION: The communication system is provided with: a mobile terminal 1 carried by a client with him/her; a cash register 2 for performing a short- distance radio communication with the mobile terminal 1; a POS server 3 for managing sales information in the cash register 2; and a center 4 for providing various kinds of services to every client. A PIN code is generated by the mobile terminal 1 that the client to pay in the cash register 2 owns, the generated PIN code is presented to an operator of the cash register 2 and after the operator inputs the PIN code to the cash register 2, authenticating processing is performed both in the mobile terminal 1 and in the cash register 2 by utilizing the PIN code.
