PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of making a relation clear between an entire object image and a prescribed range of the object image and more surely assisting adjustment of an exposure condition and to provide a method for a displaying luminance distribution diagram and a control program. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is configured to include: an imaging means for outputting an electronic object image; a display means (114) for displaying the object image; an entire diagram generating means (118) for generating an entire luminance distribution diagram being a luminance distribution as to all ranges of the object image; a partial diagram generating means (118) for generating a partial luminance distribution diagram being a luminance distribution as to a partial range of the object image; and a control means (116) for control of displaying the entire luminance distribution diagram and the partial luminance distribution diagram on the display means (114) at the same time.
