<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape library device which indicates the averagely estimated proper cleaning time of a magnetic head and the proper cleaning time of the magnetic head according to each situation, or performs the cleaning of the magnetic head at the time. <P>SOLUTION: The magnet tape library device is provided with one or more magnetic tape drives, a magnetic tape exchange device, and a magnetic head cleaning instruction device. The magnetic head cleaning instruction device is provided with an operation time recording section for recording the operation time information of the measured magnetic tape drive, an error frequency recording section for recording the error frequency information of the reproducing signal of the measured magnetic tape drive, a cleaning time deciding section for deciding the cleaning time of the magnetic head on the basis of the operation time information and the error frequency information, and a display section for visually or auditorily displaying information to instruct the cleaning of the magnetic tape drive on the basis of the result of decision by the cleaning time deciding section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
