<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency in a series of terminating operations including removing and collecting operations of fiber chips F'. <P>SOLUTION: A terminating apparatus comprises a pair of first clamp members 9L and 9R in which each of clamp surfaces 9Lc (9Rc) is perpendicular, a pair of second clamp members 15L and 15R which are provided below the pair of first clamp members 9L and 9R and in which each of clamp surfaces 15Lc (15Rc) is perpendicular, a terminating means 19 which terminates an optical fiber F, and a chip extruding member which is retractable from the clamp surfaces 15Lc (15Rc) of the second clamp members 15L (15R), and extrudes the fiber chip F' sticking to the clamp surfaces 15Lc (15Rc) of the second clamp members 15L (15R). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
