<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively distribute in time and allocate power to apparatus connected to a 1394 serial bus needing the power of the bus connected thereto, even if the supply capability of the bus is less than the power required for the entire bus, thus feeding the apparatus connected to the bus with a limited power. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus connected to a 1394 serial bus comprises a means for recognizing/computing the supply capabilities and required powers for the entire bus and each apparatus; a means for deciding whether the supply capability meets the required power; a means for selecting apparatus to be fed with power, based on the decision results; and a means for sending a control signal for instructing to power on/off to the selected apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
