PURPOSE: An over-pressure safety system is provided to reduce costs by eliminating the necessity of using a container detachment unit or flow channel return unit. CONSTITUTION: An over-pressure safety system comprises a horizontal hole(44) formed in a governor(40) of a portable gas range; a valve housing(70) accommodated into the horizontal hole, and which has an open end and the other end where an exhaust hole(72) is formed; a safety spring(60) accommodated into the valve housing, and which elastically supports a valve member(50) and is compressed when the internal pressure of a gas container has reached a preset level; the valve member having a front protrusion on which a flow channel groove is formed, and a rear protrusion and a support protrusion; a seal ring(58) for sealing the gap formed between a flow channel(71) and the safety spring; and a cut-off ring for cutting off a gas flow by tightly contacting a protrusion(73) formed in the valve housing when the internal pressure of the gas container has reached a preset level.
