A multi channel physical data acquisition system has star or series linked acquisition modules (1, 2, 3) with synchronization units transmitting optical fibre (11, 12), magnetic or radio synchronization signals to other acquisition modules in response to a synchronization signal such as passing a threshold from a measurement object (5-7). An Independent claim is also included for association of the synchronization signals with the acquisition module internal time clocks.
