PURPOSE: A cathode ray tube is provided to reduce a mis-landing of electron beam and prevent a degradation of color purity by preventing a doming phenomenon of shadow mask. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube comprises a panel; a funnel coupled to the panel; and a shadow mask(108) having an effective surface(117) having a plurality of electron beam passing holes(115), a non-effective surface(119) formed around the effective surface, and a skirt portion(121) extended from the circumference of the non-effective surface and welded to a mask frame. A slot(118) is formed between the welding points(125) of welding the skirt portion to the mask frame. The height of the slot measured from the end of the skirt portion is higher than the height of the welding point.
