<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which has good repetitive recording characteristics and makes high-speed recording possible. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is formed by successively laminating at least a lower protective layer 2, a recording layer 3 making a reversible phase change of an amorphous phase and crystalline phase, an upper protective layer 4 consisting of the material selected from ZrO<SB>2</SB>, Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, MgO, and X (X is at least one kind selected from Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and CeO) and a reflection heat radiation layer 5 on a transparent substrate 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
