PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal halide lamp aiming at prevention of lowering of luminous characteristics due to white turbidity of a luminous tube bulb made of quartz glass with mercury, a halide and a scandium metal sealed as well as a suppression of rise of a voltage of a lamp during life, and its lamp-lighting device as well as a lighting fixture. SOLUTION: With the lamp with a rated lamp power W of 0.7 to 1 kW class provided with a luminous tube 4 equipped with electrodes 5a, 5b inside a bulb 40 and sealing discharge media including rare gas, mercury, sodium halide, scandium halide and scandium metal inside, a shroud 6 surrounding the luminous tube 4, support members 7a, 7b supporting the luminous tube 4 and the shroud 6, and an outer tube bulb 1 containing and sealing them, the metal halide lamp L, the lighting device of the lamp L, and the lighting fixture 9A satisfy a relation S/W between a volume S (mg/cc) of the scandium metal in the discharge media and the rated power W (kW) of: 0.001≤S/W≤0.045.
