<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a positive active material for a lithium secondary battery capable of manufacturing the positive active material with good discharging voltage characteristics, large current discharging characteristics, a large power amount, and superior cycle life characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the positive active material for the lithium secondary battery contains a process in which a metal material (a metal-containing source) is added to a doping element-containing coating solution and the metal raw material is surface treated (the metal raw material contains metal selected from a group comprising cobalt, manganese, nickel, or the combination of them); a process in which an active material precursor is manufactured by drying the surface-treated metal raw material; a process in which the active material precursor and a lithium raw material are mixed; and a process in which the mixture is heat treated, and when the active material precursor is manufactured, a heat treatment process may be executed in place of the drying process or the heat treatment process may be executed after drying. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
