<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic interpretation device using a simplified operation to perform an example sentence retrieval from character strings remained after removing erroneously recognized words from voice recognition results. <P>SOLUTION: When a user performs an operation on an input unit 18 to select a word while voice recognition results are shown on an indication unit 14 and then taps a 'remove and retrieve button', or drags a selected word into a specified area, a control unit 19 uses an example sentence retrieving unit 21 to perform the example sentence retrieval from the character strings remained after removing the selected words from recognition results. When the user taps a 'retrieve button', or drags the selected word into a specified area different from the above described area, an example sentence retrieval on the selected word is performed.
