<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hub device which allows easy wiring for connecting a plurality of peripheral devices to a personal computer in accordance with their respective uses and thus allows the top of the desk to be tidy. <P>SOLUTION: An intermediate hub having a plurality of connection ports is provided at the middle of a cable of a remote hub having one or more connection ports at its end. The connection ports employed here conform to the USB standard or the IEEE 1394 standard.
