PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a surface mount coil component without being melted and deteriorated by heat in mounting a wire connection part of a winding without any problem generating electrode separation, solder cracks or the like and any labor of terminal fitting adhesion working even in the case of a use environment of an automobile or the like. SOLUTION: A terminal fitting 20 is provided on the end face part of a core 11, and, in the case that a winding terminal is connected to the terminal fitting 20, the terminal fitting 20 is formed to have a patch part 21 as a fitting side retaining part in a substantially U shape. A recess groove 14 is formed on a rectangular flange 13 as a core side retaining part, and the terminal fitting 20 is fitted and mounted on the rectangular flange 13. The embossed part 21 is engaged with the recess groove 14, and the winding terminal is mechanically and electrically connected to a connection line part 22 of the terminal fitting 20.
