PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve CRT luminance and reduce fluctuation in CRT luminance for each panel by enhancing combustion performance of an intermediate membrane that is formed on the inner wall of the panel and by increasing the reflection factor of the metal back membrane, and by eliminating swelling of aluminum of the metal back membrane in the manufacturing process of a cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: This is a manufacturing method of a cathode-ray tube that comprises a process of forming a fluorescent substance membrane 12, an intermediate membrane 13, and a metal back membrane 14 in order on the inner wall of a panel 11 and a frit seal process of jointing the panel 11 and a funnel (not shown in the figure). The intermediate membrane 13 is formed by coating a solution which is added with a microcapsule 15 that is not dissolved in the solution forming the intermediate membrane 13 by coating and supplies oxygen, and in the frit seal process, the intermediate membrane 13 is combusted by generating oxygen by the microcapsule in the intermediate membrane 13 formed by coating.
