PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording tape cassette which can allow a thin recording tape to travel adequately. SOLUTION: The recording tape cassette 10 is formed by respectively rotatably housing a pair of reels 26 having lower flanges 28 and upper flanges 30 at the top and bottom ends of reel hubs 30 into a case 12. The respective reels 26 allow the magnetic tape T to travel while one thereof unwinds the magnetic tape T and the other takes up the magnetic tape T. At least the lower flanges 28 or upper flanges 32 of the respective reels 26, which flanges come into contact with the traveling magnetic tape T, are formed by resin molding using a resin material of≤1×10<SP>13</SP>Ωsurface electrical resistance value and are hardly electrifiable. Therefore the magnetic tape T having a thickness below 13μm travels adequately without being attracted to the lower flanges 28, etc., by an electrostatic force. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
