PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the display control of a high speed and highly precise scroll bar with a little processing time and resource even in a display system where layout is changed according to the size setting of a character or display window. SOLUTION: A division data size acquiring means 1 acquires the data sizes of divided documents obtained by dividing a document into a plurality of parts. When a designated range acquiring means 5 obtains the range designated by a user, a designated range layout obtaining means 6 specifies the divided documents including the designated range, and a designated range data size obtaining means 2 calculates the data size of the designated range based on the data size of the specified divided documents. Thus, a ratio obtaining means 3 is able to calculate the position and ratio of the scroll box of the designated range from the sum of the respective data sizes of the divided documents and the data size of the designated range.
