WHITE LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white light emitting element that is high in color rendering property and has a light weight, a small size, and a long service life.

SOLUTION: The white light emitting element includes an InGaN LED which generates an ultraviolet ray of 340-400 nm in wavelength, a massive ZnS first fluorescent screen which contains one element selected from among Al, In, Ga, Cl, Br and I in an amount of 1×1017cm-3and generates blue fluorescence by absorbing the ultraviolet ray from the LED, and a massive ZnSSe second fluorescent screen which contains one element selected from among Al, In, Ga, Cl, Br and I in an amount of ≥1×1017cm-3and generates yellow fluorescence by absorbing part of the blue fluorescence. This element emits white light by mixing the blue fluorescence from the first fluorescent screen with the yellow fluorescence from the second fluorescent screen.
