<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document storage system and document storage method having a service site for determining optimum storage designation information based on the attribute information of a document to be stored that is designated from a user site and a preset storage designation determination table, and a storage site having a storage designation determined by a service site from storing the document to be stored received from the user site; and an information recording medium therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A storage information retrieval part 206 retrieves the storage designation that stores a document based on the storage information stored in a storage information storage part 214 and the document retrieval condition information received from the user site 102.
