PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of particularizing a photographing place after the photographing without the need for printing. SOLUTION: The camera acquires district name information indicative of the photographing place on the basis of position information acquired by a GPS control circuit 44 at photographing, composes image data indicative of a character string of the district name denoted by the district name information with digital image data obtained by the photographing and records the digital image data after the composition on a recording medium 42A.
