PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure a high cleaning effect by liners of a magnetic disk cartridge having the liners and to reduce the torque necessary for rotating a magnetic disk medium at a prescribed speed. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk cartridge is provided with the disk-shaped magnetic disk medium 4, a case C consisting of upper and lower shell halves 1 and 2 in which the medium 4 is rotatably housed, and the liners 5 fixed to the inside surfaces of the shell halves 1 and 2 facing the medium 4. Projections 1d and 2d which float the liners 5 and 5 from the inside surfaces of the shell halves 1 and 2 are disposed on the respective inside surfaces of the shell halves 1 and 2 in the positions that the projections are not aligned to each other between the shell halves 1 and 2.
