PURPOSE: A display device and a method for displaying a current time thereof are provided to display the current time data such as calendar and time when necessary or when no video signal is provided. CONSTITUTION: A connector(10) receives a video signal from a graphic card of a computer main body. A signal processor(12) converts the video signal transmitted from the connector into a displayable signal. A display part(14) displays the signal converted from the signal processor. An input part(20) sets up a user's function. A time data providing part(24) provides the current time data. A memory(22) stores data and a program. A time display screen generating part(18) generates a time display screen.
