<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sense providing device that gives an operator virtual reality which causes the illusion that the picture of a body presented in an image is a part of his body. <P>SOLUTION: The sense providing device is provided with a data glove 2 which gives his left hand L a tactile sense stimulation, a liquid crystal display 1 which presents a visual stimulus comprising a picture corresponding to the left hand and a picture calling the tactile sense stimulation in mind, and a computer 3 which controls the data glove 2 and the liquid crystal display 1. The virtual tactile sense stimulation added to the left hand of virtual image presented by the liquid crystal display 1 is synchronized with the tactile sense stimulation added to the real left hand L by the data glove 2. By this, the operator H has the illusion that his left hand of virtual image presented by the liquid crystal display 1 is his left hand of real image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
