PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the server retrieval time and to improve the operability of a user while keeping a function of automatically discovering a server. SOLUTION: When a music data reproducing application is started, a client terminal 10 retrieves servers 2-1 to 2-4 on a home network 3. At the time, when a response is given from the previously connected server, connection to the server is made with priority and server retrieval processing is suspended.
