PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for installing software bundles into a plurality of target computers. SOLUTION: When the software bundle is installed into the target, a set of special image files is first prepared corresponding to the respective software bundles residing in a reference storage medium of the reference computer built on the basis of specific hardware and software specifications. The image files are copied into each of a plurality of target storage media. The respective target computers can select one of the image files in the target storage media, and the selected image file comprises a predetermined software corresponding to a hardware configuration of the target computer. As a result, in the respective target computer, the image file selected to be the software bundle is decoded and stored in the target storage media. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
