PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver which preferably makes a display process, based on a broadcast image format, to display on a screen. SOLUTION: An image processor/OSD circuit 12 generates image data based character information or color information to be output according to instructions from a browser 20 or a CPU 13, and cuts off a top and bottom zones or right and left zones (side panel) in an image or zooms the image horizontally or vertically, based on instructions from the CPU 13. The image processor/OSD circuit 12 embeds a received image outputted from an AV decoder 4 in a right upper corner area, etc., of a data broadcast display screen, cuts off top and bottom zones or a right and left zones of the embedded image, or makes a horizontal or vertical zooming process of images, as well as making an EGP display based on program information, a data broadcast display, a menu screen display, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
